Annual Tree Lighting

Event Description:
The Annual Tree Lighting has been a tradition at Winthrop since 1935. The event is now part of Rock Hill's ChristmasVille celebration, and attracts many community members, alumni, faculty, staff and students. The Student Alumni Council will host a program including performances by the Rock Hill Rockhettes, Winthrop Chorale and Winthrop Collegiate Choir followed by a countdown to light the front lawn. This year, the flagpole by the Historic Southern Magnolia Tree will be lit to celebrate the season while preserving the health of the tree.
